Assessment of Student Performance will be Based on: - A Predetermined Rubric will be the Basis for Each Project. - Daily Class Warm Ups - Class Discussions, Critiques and Participating in Online Activities such as Blog Discussions. - Written Assessments of Students’ Own Art and Art of Others. - Extra Credit is Often Offered and I will be Happy to Entertain any Ideas from Students who are Willing to try Something Independently. Art today relies heavily on technology; this class will be no different. Students will be required to bring their ThinkPad to class every day. Students will use the Northwest Middle School Art website as a resource for completing classwork. There will be daily tasks in class that requires the use of the tablet from photography, use of websites, and finding resources on the net. Attendance in my class is vital to being successful. If a student should miss class for any reason, make up work will be provided. However, it will be the students’ responsibility to make up missed class work. Class assignments can be found on the NW Middle School Art Website. When students return from the absence they should first go through the class files to complete work they missed. Since art is a subject where interacting within your environment can play an important role in a student’s success, I do not expect silence in my class. After saying that I do expect three classroom rules to be followed at all times. 1st: Do not speak while teacher or other students are addressing the class. 2nd: Get permission to get out of seat. 3rd: Have respect for the classroom, the teacher, and most importantly other students. Consequences 1st: Verbal Reminder, Student Conference 2nd: Morning or Afternoon Detention 3rd: Parent Conference 4th: Office Referral For a Printable Version of this Syllabus Click Below. |
